Mr. Iqbal is based in Karachi, Pakistan and he is responsible for co-managing all NGP Pakistan's local and cross border activities. Mr. Iqbal is the founder and CEO of StreetWare Systems (Pvt.) Ltd [www.streetware.net], a Financial IT solutions provider. StreetWare's products include systems to manage Equity and Debt offerings for investment banks as well as an online trading system for brokerage houses. StreetWare operates under the umbrella of the Ismail Group [www.ismail.com.pk] of companies, a family owned holding company. The Ismail Group also owns CandyLand [www.candyland1.com], the largest confectionary company in Pakistan, Bisconni [www.bisconni.com], the third largest biscuits and cookies manufacturer, and AstroPak, which manufactures CPP films for the packaging industry.
Prior to founding StreetWare, Mr. Iqbal was a Vice President in the Equities Division at Goldman Sachs and Co. in New York. In his 7+ years at GS he worked in various areas within the IT and Equities divisions. While in the IT division, Mr. Iqbal was Project Manager for the development and implementation of www.gsonline.com, an IPO portal for Goldman Sachs. Mr. Iqbal has also worked as a liaison for the Equity Capital Markets group on the Equity Sales desk as well as on the execution of all Goldman equity offerings.
Mr. Iqbal received his Bachelors Degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA where he studied Computer Science and Industrial Administration. He is currently pursuing a Graduate degree in Computational Finance at CMU's Graduate School of Computer Science.
