Jan-10-2008 - Expert System, leading provider of semantic intelligence
software, which discovers, classifies and interprets text information, has
announced today its participation to the innovative project of e-Democracy
for the county of Bari, in the South of Italy, developed in collaboration
with the http://www.oracle.com/index.html Oracle Competence Center.

The goal of the project is the development of e-Democracy tools to support
the active participation of the citizens and organizations to the local
political process. Several agencies of the local municipalities (i.e.
culture, economy development, environment, etc.) will use the information
extracted from the forums and blogs hosted on the portal, to obtain useful
advice and suggestions for projects of common interest.

The e-Democracy portal is built on the Oracle Semantic web platform and
Cogito, Expert System's semantic technology was integrated to automatically
analyze, interpret the user created content, and extract relevant data to
identify emerging needs and requests for the local government.
